In February I had the amazing opportunity to visit Ghana on the occasion of a wonderful friends’ wedding!
So here I want to share some highlights of the trip and what jewellery I took with me.
First of all, Rob and Venetia gave me the chance to make their special wedding bands, and I couldn't be more honoured. They decided to have a simple D shape band with engraving on the inside of each other’s name in their own handwriting.
At their traditional Ghanaian wedding I had to wear something that would stand out alongside all the wonderful colours of the textiles, so I decided to wear the Fragmented Chain with the Long Drop on Cornelian and Mother of Pearl earrings.
While for the church wedding I wore two pieces from my mother of pearl collection:
Before the wedding I visited Cape Coast, where I enjoyed the sea and hikes through the Kakum park with a spectacular canopy walk in the middle of the jungle!
For the hike I wore the simple studs, while on the beach I wore the sea themed mother of pearl and coral earrings.
After the wedding I flew to the north and stayed in the Mole Park where I went on a safari and had breakfast with elephants few meters from me!
On the way back to Accra I visited the Volta region, hiked to the border of Togo, refreshed at the Wli waterfalls and kayaked in the Volta lake. The only jewellery I wore was this rings combination which I haven’t taken off for the last 3 months!!
Obviously I loved the music and fun nightlife of Accra and the great company! It’s been amazing and I can’t thank enough the amazing newlywed couple.
I hope you enjoyed looking at some pictures of this beautiful country!
